Thank you for your interest in the EMRA race school.  The course has been getting better and better each year, and we are training new riders to a level of competency that puts them above the rest.  Each year the school has grown tremendously, and because of the rapid growth of students we are now limiting the schools to 35 students, so that we can maintain a very low Student/Instructor ratio, so watch for upcoming school dates and book early.

The race school is available in the following formats :

Full school which is 1 evening (Friday) and 2 days (Saturday - Sunday).  This  classroom and track format covers greater depth in the classroom, and goes into more technique on the track, starting, passing, advanced braking, and on track drills.

The schools are run together.  The second day of the race school (Sunday) is the optional Advanced Riding Techniques (Level 2) course.

Machine Preparation:

It is suggested although not a requirement, that all students ride a "sportbike" type, road-legal machine, but it is not manditory (Students have taken the schools on Motocross bikes, Dual Purpose Bikes, and sport touring bikes).  Students are grouped together based on the type of bikes they are riding and their skill levels.  This benefits all students as you can ride with other riders of similar skills and know what to expect of each other. The purpose of the school is to allow each student an opportunity to work on their riding skills. In order to prepare your bike for the race school, you will need to ensure the following is done:

  • Each machine must arrive in the morning ready to go.
  • All bikes must be in safe and roadworthy condition.
  • The following must be taped over or removed -all glass lenses on instruments (except tach), reflectors, head and taillights.
  • Each bike must have a functional engine kill switch.
  • Students must ensure that brakes, tires, and chain are not overly worn.
  • NO ANTIFREEZE -distilled water and water wetter only in the radiator.

Each rider's bike and rider's clothing and protective gear will be checked at technical inspection.

 Riding Gear:

The following items must be supplied by all school students and to be worn during the on-track portion of the school:

  • Snell 2005-approved helmet with suitable eye protection
  • Full racing leathers or textile suits (one piece or two piece) or a leather jacket with leather pants suitably joined together by some method, i.e., belt, zipper, laces, duct tape. No jeans or non-leather moto-cross gear accepted.  Riding gear must have back protection if you are attending the race school.
  • Leather riding gloves and appropriate footwear such as riding boots.

Roadrace/Performance School Course Description:

The EMRA has developed a school to allow motorcycle enthusiasts a safe and informative opportunity to develop and refine their street riding and racing skills. A classroom session will cover bike preparation, rider preparation, proper racing lines, braking, and cornering techniques as well as crash avoidance. For track sessions, the students with their protective gear will join their designated small groups for individual riding instruction from their instructors. (Riders will be in groups with others of similar ability and equipment.)

EMRA Race/Perform. School Registration:

EMRA School registrations will be sold on a first come first served basis. Students who pass an EMRA race school are eligible to receive an EMRA competition license (Novice). If the student does not purchase a license and race at a minimum of one event during those two years, that student will be required to take another race school in order to be re-certified for licensing.

Refund Policy:

Refunds will be granted for schools up to 15 days in advance of the school with the exception of a $50 service fee. No refunds will be issued in the last 7 days before the start of the school.  The School runs rain or shine so come prepared!
