Volunteers

The Foundation of the EMRA

Volunteering is the best place to start if you want to go racing or if you just love motorsports! Working at the track as a volunteer is the second best seat in the house next to the riders seat! Without our amazing EMRA Volunteers, motorcycle roadracing would be a very wastefull past-time...like NASCAR...kidd'n!

The EMRA has volunteers from all walks of life. From doctors, police officers to students and motorcycle instructors. Most volunteers have little or no race experience, most get involved for the love of motorsports.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!

The Edmonton Motorcycle Roadracing Association is looking for volunteers!

Who are we looking for?

Anyone responsible, friendly, and who loves motorcycle racing!

EXPERIENCE IS NOT REQUIRED!

What do volunteers do?
Volunteers run the races, flag the races, and administer the events.

WITH NO EXPERIENCE we can use you to help park cars, take tickets, assist the riders, do security, set up and tear down the track.

WITH SOME FREE TRAINING we can use you to work the corner stations, and wave the yellow, red, and other flags on the track. This is the 2nd best seat in the house, next to being on a bike.

WITH MORE EXPERIENCE you can eventually advance in the racing world. Race directors, starters, technicians, referees, they all have to start somewhere. Volunteering is a great way to do it! Who knows, you may even wind up racing !

Where and When do volunteers work?

Almost all of our work is done outside at the Stratotech Raceway. This racetrack is located just outside Ft. Saskatchewan.

Go north on Highway 15, or east on Highway 37 towards Ft. Saskatchewan.
Just 100m west of the junction of Highways 15 and 37 is the turnoff onto Secondary Highway 825. Go north on Secondary Highway 825 about 4km. Just past the railway tracks, you will see the entrance to Stratotech on your left.

A volunteer will work Saturdays and Sundays on race weekends.

We understand that volunteers will probably not be able to make every weekend, but we need volunteers to come as often as possible.

Why do volunteers work for free?

There are perks to volunteering:

  • Rotation of shifts so you can watch some of the racing

  • Free admission

  • Free lunch

  • Free race program

  • Promotions from local motorcycle dealers

  • Get 'behind the scenes' of the racing world

  • Mingle with the racers, and see the bikes up close

  • If you are interested in getting started in racing, see it from the inside

  • Make lots of friends who love motorcycles as much as you do

  • Opportunities to 'move up' in the EMRA organization

  • Opportunities to participate in other motorsports organizations, such as sports cars or motorcycle racing in other cities
