That road can surprise with the occasional bits of gravel :eek:, can't it?

If you go south again eastern washington has some fun stuff too.

Lewiston/Clarkston is right, the old spiral hiway. I meant the Lassen road has the occasional gravelly bit hiding in a corner. South from Lewiston is the area I was referring to in east washington, and yeah the middle is pretty sparse, almost as bad as the high plains desert in north central oregon.

This road is south of Wallowa, it's the access to the Snake River/Hells Canyon overlook.
