Anybody setup to glass bead blast brake rotors? I have some that need to be cleaned. If you aren't careful is it possible to warp them while blasting?

It would be nearly impossible to warp them and you will be fine having them sand basted, assuming it's not done with some type of industrial blaster set up for rigs and such. I've done my own and wouldn't have a problem doing yours. If you aren't able to remove the buttons and dissasemble the carrier, it would be good to mask them off. You can give me a shout if you like at 818-9507.

Jamie, what kind of media did you use on your rotors? While I have never done it myself I have heard of people damaging their rotors but don't know the details.

I have sandblasted them before with positive effects. You do have to watch the psi though.

I have used regular sand found at princess auto. You could potentially do some damage by falling asleep with the nozzle shooting one spot of the disc, but really our sandblaster is not overly powerful and the media is used over and over in our cabinet (I suppose that makes it a little less potent).
