Side number plates

What size do the numbers on the side of the bike need to be - 6" tall? Looks like you cannot run a single 6" tall numbers on the tail anymore with a smaller number on the side.

"Each motorcycle competing in an EMRA event must carry complete number identification comprising three number plates, one on the front of the machine and one number plate on each side. Each plate must display that rider’s designated and registered EMRA competition number"

As long as the side number is as large as possible and legible for identification purposes there should
Be no problem with tech.

you can run a single on front and a single on the tail and pass tech. as long as the tail is large and legible from both sides of the bike.

This is where although not mandatory the belly pan numbers do come in handy as well.

from a corner workers perspective the side numbers are easier to spot, on corner 9 for example the bike is leaned away from the corner workers most of the time so the tail number is mostly not seen. just an observation but I think Shane may be onto something, no side number bikes should maybe have a belly number

Race numbers are there for more than just cool looks. They serve as a riders first line of communication with race control. PLEASE make sure they are an appropriate size, and good clear font. If race control and/or timing and scoring can't make out your numbers easily you will be asked to correct them.

I run a number on the front of the upper fairing, both sides of the lowers, top of the tail and bottom of the tail.
