Lightweight Racing...

Clubmates,
We hear chatter about interest in Lightweight racing next year. Will some EMRA members do it? At other clubs, LW is the big class and the growth class. I know, we are Albertans and real men race big bikes...
But what if LW racing was fun and competitive, with great feedback from the bike and great bar-bashing racing...and your tire budget was $600 for the season? I ran 1:32 lap times on Dunlop Q3+ DOT tires ($265/set), and they last 3 race rounds and come with help from Willie Vass!
We are currently spoiled for choice on great LW bikes for sale. Lonnie is selling one of the best LW bikes in Canada. Alex Dumas's 2018 MotoAmerica Championship winning 390R is for sale in Vancouver, along with a KTM 390 Cup bike! Rupert Collins is unloading his garage of well sorted bikes. I'm sure there are others. These are expensive builds that could be had for good prices.
If you want info on LW racing, contact me. I would let you take my bike for some laps if you were interested...but I might want a few laps on your bike too ;)
The only goal is to grow the club and create safe, fun racing.

Cheers!

I concur wholeheartedly. I haven`t enjoyed racing as much in a while. It is so much fun without breaking the bank. And it is quite a challenge for someone used to relying on power for quick lap times. I`ve learned more this year than I have in a while. And enjoyed closer racing while laughing in my helmet from all the fun I`m having!
