Electrical Advice Needed

Going to be re-wiring our detached garage.

If want to replace existing wire and pathing (to many switches, got a switch for every light, want to tie them all together) and add some outlets to the garage, do I need to have it inspected once done?

To get it inspected you must get a permit before you start and will have to have it inspected at different stages of the work.
Also if everything is not done to code, including anything done previously that do not intend to change you may be required to bring up to code.

getting the permit and the inspections is the safe way to go but could be a huge pain in your you know what.

As an electrician I never get a permit or inspection for anything at home.
