What you fear most...

After this most recent incident I am not sure if I fear injury more or the AB Health Care System...

What started out as a broken foot, turned out to be three dislocated toe's which then lead to a possible C2 neck fracture and trip to Edm. I can say that back boards @6 hours + are not comfortable!!!

Either way, at home, 6 weeks with boot on then 6 months to full recovery. :( Them the brakes when old guys go down....

Thanks for the wishes to me and my family.

We thank you all........

glad to hear that there was no fracture in your neck or back. You certainly had a very upbeat attitude when leaving the track. I'm sorry to hear about the long recovery period! If you or your family needs anything let me know.

That was a pretty tough gettoff, glad to hear your back is OK
I believe I fear AB healthcare more than fear itself

I'll be there for the last double header, can't say the same for "Bella Signora"........

Ride on, ride safe and keep your gear in tiptop shape, well at least until they have a people parts store! LOL

Norbert, I am pleased to hear you are not further broken, but I am sad that you are wounded at all. Heal up and the positive attitude is always a bennefit around our club!

Was over by T1 when it happened and it looked like a nasty crash, glad you aren't injured any worse than you are, hope you make a quick recovery!

Sorry to hear about the extent of your injuries, but as the saying goes you can't keep a good man down (at least for long).

Talk to you soon.

Heal fast my friend. I understand fully what you mean about the AHC. It is a broken system. Take care and I look forward to seeing you next round.

Glad to see you're alright. That grass wasn't the least bit forgiving, and you hit the ground with a hell of a force.

quick question. did you originally go to the fort sask hospital and get questioned by a male doctor of east indian decent? when i was in, the doc asked "have you ever had a spinal injury before?" i responded "no," and then he replied "i think you broke your back" and he then left the room for over an hour without saying anything else. he came back and said a specialist looked at the xrays and she said my spine is fine. what an asshole!

other than doctor downer, i felt all of the staff were very intelligent and professional. i was annoyed at all the precautionary tests, but i am not a professional healer, only an amateur wound self-inflictor.

i am glad you are not hurt too badly.

UofA claimed the C2 fracture.

Yes the system needs a review, very broken processes, crappy schedules, managment and directive issues, more current technology could assist in the transfer of knowledge and information, etc etc....

I had no issue with the people in the system, everyone tried to do their best....

Hope I don't have to visit the system again anytime soon!
