weighing bike

I know this sounds funny but I weighed a few of my bikes, including my race bike, on a roadside truck scale (I used the one on Hwy 28 on my way back to Cold Lake). I am not sure how accurate they are or how often they are calibrated, but when I compared the weight of a stock street bike I had versus the published weight with oil and coolant (plus my estimated fuel weight) it was within 1kg. A number of car/truck performance shops have individual scales for each wheel when they are seeing what the weight distribution is on the front and rear. A shipping company that has a scale for weighing large shipping containers would work too, as well as any air freight terminal at the airport.
